Visual artist Sophie Moisan’s first solo exhibition outside of the province of Quebec

Story teller, poet and narrator are all words that have been used to describe Sophie Moisan’s incredible work. Well known in the visual arts scene in Quebec, she tells a whole story on canvas. Each painting has such vibrant colors that one feels like a child at the candy store when looking at it. It comes to Sophie spontaneously, in a naïve figurative style. The enigmatic yet smooth asymmetry in her characters reminds us that life always has two sides: the beautiful, the ugly, love, hate, life, death etc…

After seven years of being a full time painter, Sophie Moisan’s new career is thriving. As recently as last December, one of her paintings was displayed at the Caroussel du Louvre in Paris and her work will be heading for Martigny and Sion, Switzerland in the fall of 2011. Sophie is proud to exhibit in Toronto for the first time. She will show a collection of 15 paintings on the subject of love; something her life abounds with. The warmth of her palette offers instant gratification but one shall not be fooled. There is a deep meaning and hidden messages in each of them. We invite you to discover Sophie’s imaginative universe.
